The Milpitas Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Mountain View Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Milpitas, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 48-33 loss to the Vikings. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Milpitas has scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Dylan Nguyen, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Wrencher, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Mountain View entered their tilt with the Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Mountain View snuck past the Eagles with a 45-39 win on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but Mountain View was the better team in the second half.
Milpitas has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season. As for Mountain View, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
Milpitas won a match that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January, slipping by the Spartans 50-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Milpitas since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
