The Fox Tech Buffaloes fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Fredericksburg Billies on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Billies 61-55. While losing is never fun, Fox Tech can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1238th, while Fredericksburg is ranked 206th).
Several Buffaloes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jonah DeLaRosa, who scored 16 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Amaryon Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Fox Tech has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Fredericksburg, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Fox Tech will square off against London at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Fredericksburg, they will square off against John F. Kennedy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. John F. Kennedy is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
