Hurricane is 1-9 against Cedar since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hurricane Tigers will look to defend their home court against the Cedar Reds at 7:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses apiece.
Hurricane suffered their biggest loss since December 2, 2023 on Wednesday. They were beaten by Pine View 92-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (60), Hurricane still had to take the loss.
Despite their loss, Hurricane saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Houston Homer, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. That's the first time this season that Homer scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Bryson Mccauley, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cedar took a serious blow against Dixie on Wednesday, falling 86-51. While losing is never fun, Cedar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Dixie is ranked third).
Hurricane has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Cedar, they dropped their record down to 3-14 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
