After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Enumclaw, Auburn Mountainview was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Decatur Golden Gators with a sharp 8-0 win. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by eight runs or more this season.
The result came thanks to McKenna Ward's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mia Heigh was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Tessa Trippy was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.
