Reeds Spring and Hollister are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Reeds Spring Wolves on the road again on Thursday and play against the Hollister Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Reeds Spring ended up a good deal behind Blue Eye and lost 42-26. While losing is never fun, Reeds Spring can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Blue Eye is ranked 127th).
Meanwhile, Hollister's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Logan-Rogersville, falling 77-27. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Hollister has suffered against Logan-Rogersville since February 13, 2018.
Reeds Spring's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-11. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.3 points per game. As for Hollister, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.
Reeds Spring strolled past Hollister when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 54-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Reeds Spring since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
