Basketball Recap: Brayden Chojnowski Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Gila Ridge

Estrella Foothills lost to Gila Ridge back in February of 2020, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Estrella Foothills Wolves walked away with a 60-52 win over the Gila Ridge Hawks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

Estrella Foothills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brayden Chojnowski, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That's the most rebounds Chojnowski has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hone Wray, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.

Estrella Foothills has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Gila Ridge, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Estrella Foothills and Agua Fria will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Estrella Foothills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season. As for Gila Ridge, they will head out to take on Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
