The Dunellen Destroyers were the 32-23 winner over the Wardlaw Hartridge Rams when they last played one another on January 3rd, but their luck changed this time around. Dunellen fell 29-19 to Wardlaw Hartridge on Friday. Dunellen has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Despite the defeat, Dunellen had strong showings from Brielle Villanueva-Jadotte, who scored four points along with 16 rebounds and two steals, and Wendy Woll, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Villanueva-Jadotte hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games.
Dunellen's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Wardlaw Hartridge, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
Dunellen will be playing in front of their home fans against Perth Amboy Vo-Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Perth Amboy Vo-Tech's defense has only allowed 25.9 points per game this season, so Dunellen's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Wardlaw Hartridge, they will head out on the road to square off against South Amboy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
