CARROLLTON, Texas - The defense contributed on the scoring end for
Trinity (Euless, Texas) on Saturday, totaling 12 points as the Trojans bested Turner (Carrollton, Texas) 71-6.
After taking the lead on a
Matt Hawkins touchdown pass to
Deandre Roberson in the first quarter, the Trojans led 50-0 at the half.
Trinity expanded its lead to 57 points entering the fourth quarter. The Euless school's lone score in the quarter came on a
Antonio Franklin touchdown run.
Even though the Trojans led by 57 points entering the fourth quarter, they poured the points on, scoring 14 in the fourth.
Franklin played well for Trinity in the victory. The junior running back ran for two touchdowns.
Fransisco Estrada made a difference for the Lions. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown.
Turner's lone touchdown came on a 37-yard pass from Estrada to Nick Landin in the fourth quarter.
The Trojans came into the game allowing 16.3 points per game. The Carrollton school's six points were right around its season average of 7.6 per game.
