Baseball Recap: Marion County Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Marion County had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Sale Creek Panthers on Monday by a score of 8-5 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 4-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Luke Tipton was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Caden McCrary was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Marion County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sale Creek only posted a batting average of .286.

Marion County's record now sits at 16-13. As for Sale Creek, with the loss, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-5.

Looking ahead, Marion County will challenge Meigs County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sale Creek, they will welcome Berean Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Panthers have won four straight at home, while the Eagles won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
