The Chamblee Bulldogs will take on the Allatoona Buccaneers in a holiday battle at 3:00 p.m. on Friday at. Hopefully Chamblee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-36, which was the final score in Chamblee's tilt against Decatur. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chamblee has scored all season.
Chamblee's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Octavius Gresham, who scored 21 points, and Eli Starr who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Chamblee struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Allatoona entered their tilt with Lassiter with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Allatoona came out on top against Lassiter by a score of 64-55 on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given Allatoona's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Lassiter is ranked 61st).
This is the second loss in a row for Chamblee and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Allatoona, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Things could have been worse for Chamblee, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 76-57 loss to Allatoona in their previous matchup back in December of 2018. Can Chamblee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
