On Saturday, Cheney RVT was the victim of a tough 68-48 loss at the hands of Kolbe-Cathedral. While losing is never fun, Cheney RVT can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Kolbe-Cathedral is ranked fourth).
Cheney RVT lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dam'nic Gittens, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Kanye Pitts, who scored nine points.
Cheney RVT's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Kolbe-Cathedral, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Cheney RVT will head out on the road to face off against Goodwin Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kolbe-Cathedral, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bunnell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
