On Saturday Point Arena take on Branson at 3:00 PM. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes: the MaxPreps rankings predict a close match.
If Point Arena were riding high off their 60-6 takedown of Anderson Valley two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Point Arena ended up on the wrong side of a painful 6-28 walloping at Calistoga's hands. This contest was a close 6-7 at the break, but unfortunately for Point Arena it sure didn't stay that way.
Meanwhile, Branson had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 36-22 win over South Fork. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (30) and coasted on those for the victory.
Branson's win lifted them to 2-0 while Point Arena's defeat dropped them down to 2-1. We'll see if Branson's success rolls on or if Point Arena are able to steal their positive momentum.
