Volleyball Recap: Soquel Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Soquel, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against the Scotts Valley Falcons on Monday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Soquel never let Scotts Valley on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-19, 25-20.

Nathan McCarthy paced Soquel's offense, picking up 19 kills. McCarthy got some help from Dominic Garcia and his 16 assists. Keoni Raatior and Francisco Rothman-Salado kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Soquel's victory bumped their record up to 15-13. As for Scotts Valley, their loss was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-22.

Soquel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Harbor on the 6th. Scotts Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
