The Memorial Tigers will face off against the Montclair Mounties at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
Memorial fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Indian Hills on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves.
Memorial got a good showing from Yaniel Cuevas, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cuevas has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Memorial saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ramon Molina, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Alexis Martinez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Montclair posted their closest win since April 15th on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Glen Ridge 4-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mounties.
Jackson Price spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Silas Hart was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Van Note, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Montclair's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Memorial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15-1 record this season.
Memorial came up short against Montclair when the teams last played back in May of 2025, falling 6-1. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
