The Sweetwater Red Devils extended their postseason success on Saturday against the St. Monica Mariners. They blew past the Mariners 47-27. The win was nothing new for Sweetwater as they're now sitting on five straight.
Sweetwater got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Xzavier Crews out in front who rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Izell Wright, who rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry.
Sweetwater has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 8-6 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.0 points per game. As for St. Monica, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.
Sweetwater will face off against Colusa at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Colusa is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. St. Monica does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
