After a string of four wins, Copper Canyon's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They came up short against the Kellis Cougars, falling 69-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Aztecs have suffered since November 20, 2024.

Copper Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Kellis, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Copper Canyon will take on Metro Tech at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th. As for Kellis, they and Ironwood will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Ironwood has won five straight at home, while Kellis won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
