Cedar had won nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they bumped up to 13-0 to make it ten. They managed a 41-35 victory over the Manti Templars. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 51-27 back in September.
Everett Kelling had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 230 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 159 yards and one TD. Those 230 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braxton Demille, who rushed for 84 yards and one score.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cedar was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 338 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 186 rushing yards in ten consecutive contests.
As for Manti, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4. They were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.
Several Templars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carter Mason, who threw for 447 yards and four TDs while completing 84.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 47 yards and one touchdown. Mason has been hot, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last five times he's played. Manti's leading receiver Stone Mortensen was Mason's top target yet again, picking up 198 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
