Heritage had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the four-goal drubbing they dealt Newton on Thursday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 5-1 victory. Considering Heritage have won seven games by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Newton with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Morgan Kyles (2), Taylor Brown, Sailyn Balbueana, and Adelina Ritchie.

The win got Heritage back to even at 8-8. As for Newton, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.

Heritage and Newton will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Patriots see the pitch they'll take on Archer at 5:30 p.m. on the 15th. As for Newton, their break will end when they face Eastside at 5:30 p.m. on the 15th.
