Given Kosciusko's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 261st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kosciusko was led to victory by Jaybre Pierce and Andrew Mancell. Pierce scored nine points along with seven steals, while Mancell dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Greer, who scored seven points.
Kosciusko is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Houston, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-18.
Kosciusko will be playing at home against the Cavaliers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Caledonia's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Houston, they will head out on the road to take on the at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
