Clarksville Christian is 0-8 against Zion Christian Academy since April of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The Centurions will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 12:00 p.m. Clarksville Christian is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
Clarksville Christian proved they can win big last Friday (they won by seven) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Christian Community 7-5.

Anna Cheasty made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Clarksville Christian let Reese Cocke and Bella Mansfield run wild. Cocke went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Mansfield went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Yaraseth Cecilio, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Zion Christian Academy came out on top against Grace Christian Academy on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Lions. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.
Like Clarksville Christian, Zion Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Marleigh McWilliams. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts McWilliams has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Laila Powell, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one double. Addison White was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Zion Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in 12 consecutive contests.
Clarksville Christian's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Zion Christian Academy, their record now sits at 10-6.
Both Clarksville Christian and Zion Christian Academy just can't seem to miss. The Centurions have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Zion Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Clarksville Christian suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Zion Christian Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Centurions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
