The Moberly Spartans narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Hannibal Pirates 6-5.
Mia Faught made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 9 batters over 7 innings while giving up 3 earned (and two unearned) runs off 8 hits. She paired that with a solid showing in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 while logging 1 home run, 4 RBIs, and 1 double.

Moberly took advantage of their speed and finished the game with five stolen bases. They have not posted that many stolen bases since the 17th, when they also snagged five vs. Marshall.
On Hannibal's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noveli Collier, who went a perfect 3-for-3 while posting 2 doubles, 2 RBIs, and 1 walk. Collier also struck out nine batters, her most since at least 2025.
Moberly has been performing well recently, winning three of their last four games. That's given a solid lift to their 14-10 record this season. As for Hannibal, their loss was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-20.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moberly will host Northeast at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hannibal, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Louisiana at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
