The Aiken Falcons and the Starr's Mill Panthers will round out the year against one another at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. Aiken has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 476 points over their last seven contests.
Last Friday, Aiken was able to grind out a solid win over Scott, taking the game 57-49. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Aiken has scored all year.
Tayvon Smith continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Glass, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Meanwhile, Starr's Mill's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Saturday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 73-54 to Buford. While losing is never fun, Starr's Mill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Buford is ranked tenth).
Aiken pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Starr's Mill, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
