Waunakee faced Menomonee Falls in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Warriors walked away with a 2-0 win over the Phoenix. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Phoenix last Saturday, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

Lauren Sprague paced Waunakee's offense, picking up nine kills. Sprague got some help from Lauren Van Wie and her 11 assists. Sprague was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Waunakee has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-6 record this season. As for Menomonee Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 21-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waunakee will host Monona Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Menomonee Falls, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brookfield East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Phoenix are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
