The Bear River Bears waltzed into Thursday's contest with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Cedar by a score of 72-60. Given Bear River's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Cedar is ranked 119th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kyver Jensen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jensen has scored all season. Bridger Barfuss was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
When it comes to explaining why Cedar lost, one person who can't be blamed is Landon Kreitzer. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. Kreitzer set a new season high mark in steals with two. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Albrecht, who scored 12 points.
Bear River's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Cedar, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Bear River won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Desert Hills at 5:15 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Desert Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday. Cedar's road trip will continue as they head out to face Logan at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. One thing working in Logan's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
