The Mesa Ridge Grizzlies scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Lewis-Palmer 83-52 on the road. The result was nothing new for Mesa Ridge, who have now won three matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Leading Mesa Ridge to victory were Bryce Riehl and Tevin Riehl. Riehl scored 22 points along with seven rebounds, while Riehl scored 28 points. The matchup was Riehl's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tanner Widic, who scored ten points along with six assists and five rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Mesa Ridge and bumps their season record up to 6-2. As for Lewis-Palmer, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mesa Ridge is on the road again on Monday and play against Coronado at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. Coronado will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Mesa Ridge is ranked 70th). As for Lewis-Palmer, they will head out on the road to face off against Vista Ridge at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Vista Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Wednesday.
