Basketball Game Preview: Grayville Bison vs. Galatia Bearcats

The Grayville Bison will face off against the Galatia Bearcats at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Last Saturday, everything came up roses for Grayville against Agape Christian as the team secured a 71-38 victory.

Grayville relied on the efforts of Jake Hosman, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 16 boards, and Zach Leavens, who posted 20 points along with five boards and three steals. With that strong performance, Leavens is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game. Ian Kleinschmidt was another key player, putting up four points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Galatia entered their tilt with Pope County on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They took their game with ease, bagging an 85-48 win over the Pirates. The Bearcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Galatia pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.2 points per game. As for Grayville, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.

Grayville didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Galatia when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 60-56 victory. Will Grayville repeat their success, or does Galatia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
