On Friday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Springtown had to settle for a 48-46 loss against Wilson. Springtown has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Porcupines players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Esther Balado, who scored 12 points along with nine steals and eight rebounds. Balado continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Kylie Russell was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Springtown has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season. As for Wilson, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
Springtown will be playing in front of their home fans against International Leadership of Texas Keller at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wilson, they will head out on the road to face off against Hillcrest at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hillcrest presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wilson in Texas (Hillcrest is ranked 488th, while Wilson is ranked 1172nd).
