The Mulvane Wildcats will face off against the Augusta Orioles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Augusta will be up against a hot Mulvane squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Wildcats' pitchers stepped up to hand Circle a 12-0 shutout on Thursday.
Mulvane got a great performance from Grey Sanders as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched.

At the plate, Reed Hackleman was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Hagen Warkins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
Mulvane always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .543 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Augusta hadn't done well against McPherson recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Orioles were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Bullpups. The high-scoring effort was just what the Orioles needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Braxton Chandler tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, Augusta let Daltin Apel and Brody Haskell run wild. Apel went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Haskell went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base was Haskell's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Wheeler, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Mulvane's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Augusta, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mulvane hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .448. However, it's not like Augusta struggles in that department as they've averaged .377. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Mulvane's way against Augusta in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Mulvane made off with an 11-1 win. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Orioles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
