After flying high against the Vinal RVT Hawks last Friday, the Cheney RVT Beavers came back down to earth. Cheney RVT received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 47-30 to the Jets. Cheney RVT has not had much luck with the Jets recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Cheney RVT saw an underclassman step up: Cristialis Carrasquillo scored 17 points along with three steals and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carrasquillo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Myaliz Lopez, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Cheney RVT has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Academy of Aerospace and Engineering, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Cheney RVT won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Prince RVT is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Academy of Aerospace and Engineering will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Pirates at 6:15 p.m. on February 15th.
