The Mercer Cardinals took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (and then some). They claimed a resounding 58-24 win over Worth County at home. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Mercer also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Despite the defeat, Worth County saw an underclassman step up: Kristen Tracy scored 4 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rylee Ruckman, who scored 7 points along with 9 rebounds.
Mercer's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Worth County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Mercer will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Penney at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. As for Worth County, they will square off against Platte Valley co-op [South Nodaway/Jefferson] at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
