At the plate, Emerson let Ellie Thurman and Gianna Lipsky run wild. Thurman went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Lipsky went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI. That's the most runs Lipsky has posted since back in February. Alexis Maijala was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Emerson, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Heritage has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .477. However, it's not like Emerson struggles in that department as they've averaged .501. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
