McClain hasn't had much luck against Washington recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Blue Lions at 5:00 p.m. McClain is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Washington will be up against a hot McClain squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Tigers blew past Fairfield 15-4 on Saturday. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

McClain let Kolton Lamb and Connor Chandler run wild. Lamb went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Chandler went 2-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave Lamb a new career-high. Eli Douglas was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: McClain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairfield only managed five.
Meanwhile, it was close, but last Saturday Washington sidestepped South Webster for a 6-5 victory.
Bryson Heath was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Lotz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
McClain's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Washington, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Washington's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: McClain has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Washington, though, as they've been averaging 8.7 hits. Given McClain's sizable advantage in that area, the Blue Lions will need to find a way to close that gap.
McClain got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Washington by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Blue Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
