Basketball Recap: Canton Central Catholic Has No Trouble Against Coventry

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Archbishop Hoban, Canton Central Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Coventry Comets as the Canton Central Catholic Crusaders made off with a 79-56 win. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

Coventry's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Meinen, who went 8-for-18 en route to 23 points and three steals. Meinen's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justus Stephens, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 12 points.

Canton Central Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Coventry, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.

Canton Central Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-48 win against Garaway on the 13th. As for Coventry, they have also already played their next contest, a 65-44 victory against Norton on the 14th.
