Volleyball Recap: Lockport Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Lockport had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Lyons Lions by a score of 2-0. The Porters have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Lockport easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-13.

Bridget Ferriter paced Lockport's offense, picking up 12 kills. Ferriter got some help from Natalie Bochantin and her 23 assists. Finally, Hutsyn Timosciek kept Lockport's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Lockport has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Nazareth Academy on the 29th. As for Lyons, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Lincoln-Way West on the 28th.
