Rising Sun is 8-2 against Jac-Cen-Del since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Shiners will face off against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Rising Sun not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 21st (when they won 10-0). They put the hurt on South Ripley with a sharp 7-1 victory.

Aiden White was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Rising Sun's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 3-10 when he doesn't). White was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Simpson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Brayden Burris was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Rising Sun kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 8.8.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Jac-Cen-Del, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Switzerland County 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted against the Pacers since April 16, 2022.
Blake Wagner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.
On the hitting side, Jac-Cen-Del's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Ricke, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
Jac-Cen-Del moved to 10-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Rising Sun, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Rising Sun has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Jac-Cen-Del struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Rising Sun skirted past Jac-Cen-Del 7-6 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Shiners since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
