Medicine Valley scored a shocking upset when it eliminated Wallace, 42-36. At the time, the Wildcats were ranked 12th in the state, while the Raiders were 44th.
Adding to the longest winning streak in D2 District 8 (8 Man) this week, Medicine Valley beat Wallace 42-36. The victory was the sixth in a row for Scott Johnsen's team.
Tristan Johnson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Hayes Center lost to Hitchcock County. He completed 14 passes for 172 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 126 yards. Johnson's favorite target this week was Seth Gohl, who caught 8 passes for 102 yards.
Alex Whipps threw for 216 yards and 2 touchdowns. He went 19-26 with 1 interception.
Johnson was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 126 yards on 19 carries as the Cardinals defeated the Cardinals. Gohl also contributed to the rushing game with 32 yards on the ground.
Hitchcock County's Whipps and Blume led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Whipps has thrown for 1,204 yards this season, while Blume has 29 catches for 538 yards. Hayes Center's Johnson leads the league in rushing yards with 1,032.
As it stands, the Raiders are in second, while Dusty Gaston's team is in fourth.
Medicine Valley and Gary Hager's team played the most contested game in D2 District 8 (8 Man) this week, with Medicine Valley eventually emerging with a 42-36 victory. Chase Barthel ran for 58 yards in the win.
