The Bingham Miners will head out on the road to face off against the Herriman Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bingham is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Bingham is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Cedar Valley just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Aviators by a score of 7-6.
Noah Devroom was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Cain Stoker made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Herriman brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They walked away with a 12-8 win over Copper Hills on Friday. The contest marked the Mustangs' most dominant victory of the season.
The team relied heavily on Beckam Maxwell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Heyborne, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Herriman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.
The win snapped Herriman's losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 4-11 record. As for Bingham, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
Bingham's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Miners have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Herriman, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Bingham continue to outrun the ball?
Bingham couldn't quite get it done against Herriman in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 as they fell 4-1. Can the Miners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
