Football Recap: Sharon Skates Past Conneaut Area with Ease

Sharon waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Conneaut Area Eagles 47-7. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won four games by 29 points or more so far this season.

Sharon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Engelmore out in front who threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. That's the most passing yards Engelmore has posted since back in October of 2024. Sharon's leading receiver Rakeem Hughes was Engelmore's top target yet again, picking up 112 receiving yards and one score.

Sharon's run defense was locked in: Conneaut Area could only muster 1.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Aanavyon Brown for the heroic effort on defense: he. The dominant display was nothing new: Sharon has now limited their opponent to fewer and fewer yards per carry in four consecutive matchups.

Sharon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Trae Whitehead and Terrian White. White's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 114 rushing yards. Sharon received some extra help from Bishop Root, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Sharon's record now sits at 5-3. As for Conneaut Area, they moved to 6-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Sharon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 42-21 victory against Titusville on the 16th. As for Conneaut Area, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 24-8 loss against Grove City on the 17th.
