The Bulloch Academy Gators waltzed into their matchup on Friday with 11 straight wins but they left with 12. They walked away with a 39-27 victory over Pinewood Christian. Given Bulloch Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Patriots are ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bulloch Academy was led to victory by Kaley Cardell and Ashantay Noble. Cardell scored 11 points along with six steals, while Noble scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Noble has scored at least a third of Bulloch Academy's points. Rylie Ann Claxton was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.
Bulloch Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. As for Pinewood Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Westminster Schools of Augusta the next time they take the court. Bulloch Academy will head out to face the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Patriots will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
