The Webster County Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Caldwell County Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Webster County's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Hopkins County Central with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Storm recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Chloe Papineau made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Papineau was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last seven matches.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kennedy Warren, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Raynei Roy, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Caldwell County was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over Todd County Central. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Jackie Farmer tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Harper Holeman was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylee Butts, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Caldwell County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Todd County Central only posted an OBP of .250.
Webster County's record now sits at 9-14. As for Caldwell County, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Webster County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Caldwell County struggles in that department as they've averaged .318. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Webster County took their victory against Caldwell County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2 score. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
