Perquimans had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Jones Trojans on Tuesday as they made off with a 14-2 victory. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Ben Brown, who earned three RBI, one run, and two stolen bases. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sean Saunders, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Perquimans hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.

Perquimans is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Jones, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.

Looking ahead, Perquimans will face off against Tarboro on Friday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. Jones does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
