The Upsala Cardinals can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They blew past Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 69-29 at home. Upsala's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Upsala's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dakota Soltis, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenna Graves, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Upsala has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for Long Prairie-Grey Eagle, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Upsala will head out on the road to challenge Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia] at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Long Prairie-Grey Eagle won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mora at 4:45 p.m. on January 19th. Mora is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
