Scott is a perfect 10-0 against Hugoton since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Beavers will venture away from home to challenge the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Scott will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Scott is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Ness City with a sharp 23-1 victory on Thursday. Considering the Beavers have won 13 games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Riley Suppes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Suppes was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Peyton Gentry was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Crissa Irvin was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base.
Scott kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Hugoton challenged Cimarron on Tuesday. The Eagles came up short against the Bluejays, falling 13-3. The Eagles have struggled against the Bluejays recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Emery Anderson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Salmans, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases.
Scott's record is now 17-5. As for Hugoton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
Hugoton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Scott has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Hugoton, though, as they've been averaging 10.1 hits. Given Scott's sizable advantage in that area, the Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
Scott got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 against Hugoton by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
