The Sweeny Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Columbia Roughnecks, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Sweeny took down the Roughnecks 49-35.
Sweeny's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hailey Eulenfeld, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Shania Woodard, who scored 12 points.
Despite the defeat, Columbia had strong showings from Alexia Lewis, who scored 14 points along with two steals, and Ayvah Fields, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleese Swanks, who scored no points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Sweeny's win bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Columbia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-18.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Bay City the next time they take the court. Columbia will head out to face Bay City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Sweeny will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
