The Rahway Indians''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Colonia on the road and fell 35-7. Rahway was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Jaeden Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Colonia, rushing for 238 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 157 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Jones is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played. Colonia also got help from Nygel Hill who showed off his sure hands for 81 receiving yards.
Rahway's loss was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-2 Randolph and 9-2 St. Thomas Aquinas (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 67% over those games). As for Colonia, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Rahway is on the road again on Friday and play against Ramapo at 6:00 p.m. on October 27th. Ramapo is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Colonia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
