Even though the Dollar Bay Bays scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, the Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes still came out on top. Lake Linden-Hubbell walked away with a 66-59 victory over Dollar Bay. Given Lake Linden-Hubbell's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Dollar Bay is ranked 496th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the defeat, Dollar Bay saw an underclassman step up: Liam Tourtillott scored 29 points along with six rebounds. The game was Tourtillott's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Kentala, who scored ten points along with six assists.
Lake Linden-Hubbell's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Dollar Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Linden-Hubbell will take on Jeffers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Jeffers will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. As for Dollar Bay, they will head out on the road to face off against Stephenson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
