After three games on the road, Norwayne is heading back home. They will take on the Smithville Smithies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Norwayne has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 612 points over their last nine matches.
Last Tuesday, Norwayne didn't have too much trouble with Chippewa on the road as they won 60-44. The win was just what Norwayne needed coming off of a 84-58 loss in their prior match.
Norwayne relied on the efforts of Parker Metsker, who scored eight points along with eight assists and five rebounds, and Braden West, who scored 17 points. Metsker has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Preattle, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Smithville pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hillsdale. Smithville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Norwayne's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. As for Smithville, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Norwayne didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Smithville when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 54-49 win. Will Norwayne repeat their success, or does Smithville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
