After flying high against the San Tan Foothills Sabercats last Wednesday, the Coolidge Bears came back down to earth. Coolidge fell just short of Florence by a score of 51-48. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Coolidge has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Coolidge still got an impressive performance from Ja'kwan Jordan, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 19 rebounds. Jordan is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. Adarius Miguel was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Even though they lost, Coolidge were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Florence only racked up five assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Florence to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Stenson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Taufaasau, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Coolidge's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Florence, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing American Leadership Academy - Anthem South the next time they take the court. Florence will head out to face American Leadership Academy - Anthem South at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Coolidge will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
