Basketball Recap: Bishop Gorman Piles Up the Points Against Palo Verde

Bishop Gorman entered their tilt with Palo Verde on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 71-21 victory over the Palo Verde Panthers. With the Gaels ahead 42-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.

It was another big night for Aaliah Spaight, who went 8 for 10 on her way to 18 points in addition to six steals and five assists. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Addysen Carr was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

Spaight wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Bishop Gorman was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Bishop Gorman is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.9 points per game. As for Palo Verde, they dropped their record down to 6-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
