Despite the defeat, Chilton County had strong showings from Justin Godwin, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds, and Cayden Meank, who scored 15 points. Godwin has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradin Yates, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Benjamin Russell's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.9 points per game. As for Chilton County, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-16.
